Any voice performers out there—or any performer at all who happens to possess a most dynamic voice—take note!
The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York is currently on the hunt for its next announcer for the Brooklyn Nets. An open call will be held at the arena July 18 at 3 p.m.
The hired vocal talent will be considered “the main voice of the Nets,” and will be needed to call the starting lineup, game action, and other arena announcements for all home games.
Prospective announcers will be required to read a script of basketball calls over the PA during the audition. Callbacks will be held July 31 and will entail announcing for a game with local basketball teams inside the arena.
In addition to a golden voice, candidates must have a knowledge and passion for the NBA, know the rules of basketball, be familiar with the Nets’ market and region, have previous public address experience, and availability to work each Nets home game including those on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
