HBO series “Insecure,” co-created by Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore and starring Rae, is casting Los Angeles area talent for a background gig in the forthcoming second season.
The comedy, which follows 30-somethings in L.A., is casting male and female performers ages 18 and up to depict “Chicago steppers.” Actors should be African American. Hired union talent will be paid $164/eight hours, while nonunion compensation will be $84/eight hours.
Shooting is ongoing through June in L.A.
Following its acclaimed first season, Rae was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 2017 for Best Actress in a musical or comedy television series. She announced on Twitter that the second season will premiere on HBO on July 23.
